The 19.5 tires I posted come in at 85lbs. The aluminum 22.5s won't weight much really. the tires are heavy. The steelies with a tire are Heavy. picked obey off the side of the road and put it in the back of the truck. What a B@(%h

OK.... I just found one of THESE. Not a nice one like in the pic, but a solid one with nice patina.

I have always wanted to do one of those trucks up as a maximum "over-the-road" style truck, meaning, making it as quiet, comfortable, and nice for ubber-long road trips/etc. Maybe swapping to a 4 speed auto (that gen came w/ 3 speeds right?) as well...

To me it'd work better as a crew-cab, but aside from looking rough, you've got a decent truck to work with as it is...so it's simply personal preference/money that dictates the decision to me.

I do really like that black one above

I think 91.5-93 should be a 4 speed auto

If you weren't so fat away Id be interested in the cab if you decide to use the retrain elsewhere

I will be parting out a lot of it, but first I want to use it to haul the C500 home. After that I'll be selling off what I don't need.

It'll be a month or two before I can drag the C500 home. In the meantime I'm going to get all of the mechanicals fixed up so everything is roadworthy.

Go figure... "rat rod it" got the fewest votes, and that's what I've decided to do. Should make an interesting tow piece!

That truck looks great, Jimbob!

As for this one, I'm putting the 1963 C500 body on it. I want it to look similar to the green / white one in the pic, but I plan on leaving the paint as-is if possible, just a few touch ups, a light scuff, and some satin clear.

I'm not going to put a utility bed on it like the one in the pic. I want a long stepside bed painted/ aged to match the cab with big fenders on it, so I'll have to come up with something. I'd rather leave the wheelbase right where it is for a better ride and towing, so it'll be a loooong bed. I want mine to have a little more forward rake as well, but the tire / wheel combo should take care of that.

The inspiration came from this '54 IH fire truck I saw on ebay a while back. I like the long look with the big/little rollers - so I want to run 16 inch wheels up front and matching 22.5s in the rear; either stockers up front with big steel Budds painted shiny the same color as the truck, or matching big / little 10-hole Alcoas like on the fire truck. The bed will need to be higher to cover the rear wheels, but mine wont be sitting on the ground like the IH, so it should work.

The plan is to use it as a daily driver with tools and parts on board to service my small delivery truck fleet, and occasional use towing my cars around. With that in mind, I'll try to keep the running gear / chassis as original as possible... basically a funny-looking stock '92 D350.

She sure doesn't look like much right now....

The best part is that once I sell or scrap everything I'm not using, the '63 stuff will basically be FREE!
