I haven't used a 727 in years but is there any reason why studs are not to use studs and lock nuts on use lock wire???

The clearance between the bolt head and block... even with bolts the head thickness is pretty thin for clearance... the welds on that conv look like they didnt penetrate at all(like the weld was sitting on the top of the metal... it could be the heat affected zone I'm looking at

Keith, I was going to send you the pictures, glad you logged in.
We will have to get the trans over to you, so you can see how your modification to the trans are working after 90 + passes hitting it with 500 NOS.
And also so you can check out the 1.95 first set that we had made up.
Engine is at LEGEND getting freshened up, had 1 bad valve and the new liners we had put in the bores 2 years ago were knocked around little, having over size pistons made up at Diamond
Ordered new rear rims going to a bigger tire so we may have to keep a eye on the high gear clutches.
