Trying to decide whether to sell my great set of SDSS Stage 2 Edelbrocks, upgrade them or just save them for another project. I think there are more a few guys in the 10's with these heads, so who'se out there are what did you run? I know Flyfish is in the high 10's with his awesome second gen Cuda notch, but I think there are several others as well.

I'm looking to build a high torque 318 or 360 based tow motor to put in either a LWB dakota or maybe an older B body sedan that I could reuse these heads on but they're kind of overkill for that.

Thanks!

That's impressive power, how high do you spin it and what cam/compression is that?

I would shift at 6800, old crowler solid roller 604 out of the catalog, and it was 11.5. Pump gas on the street and track and mix some 112 on the spray to be safe. Miss that motor took it apart to go to a 4in crank, sold heads and went with batten w2 then 360-1 heads.

Lol, i tend to reuse my stuff for a variety of purposes. My 414 has Mahle pistons which are great but they don't have very deep valve pockets. So I'm looking to upgrade the heads with a bigger/better flowing port window and keep the cam I have., so I either need to sell these or reuse them on something else.

These heads are great but (short of changing pistons) I really don't think I can wring them out to their maximum potential. Way Too good to sit on the shelf.

I checked with Mahle Tech and it turns out the Valve pockets on their standard 4.00" stroke pistons are .250" deep and cut at 2.17" valve relief which means they can take both a bigger valve and a higher lift cam than I originally thought they did. That's good news in that they'll swallow AT LEAST a 2.08" intake valve without issue.

Maybe I'll tweak the heads some more, but being these SDSS stage 2's are good for 550+ as they are they might be better to leave them as is and find another more suitable app....like another 7800 RPM 340

I'm certainly not the fastest, but with SDSS Eddies and 418 cid and pump 93 octane. My challenger went 10.87 at 121 mph at 3720 with driver.

Wize, they are a pretty decent pair of heads for the price and using stock rockers, etc. My Eddy's are home ported and are more than enough for me..

I LOVE the pair I have, and in the Rocky I've only scratched the surface of the mid-high 10 potential of them for this car.

Where I am at right now is I want to transition to an E85 carb and I'd really like to swap to a head with more port volume to compansate for the lower A/F ratio ( more fuel displaces more of the available port left for the air to get in). I have another set of heads on the way to play with and with my limited time to play I'm debating what's best to do with them....namely, keep them as is for another project, upgrade them (like Brian did on his Car Craft 414).... or let somebody else enjoy them.
