So no issue cranking the engine with the timing cover and damper off???
You'll have the cam bolt/washer/eccentric on & no prob just for a compression test, the crank gear wont go anywhere and as you know adv/ret it will change P/V clearance
thanks, yep the bolt and ecentric would be on.
Other issue...well I have not done a compresion check on the engine since I put it the car back on the road...and although it runs well...it does not run as strong as I would like (could be the overall combination of engine gearing etc.). But at this time I prefer to be blissfully unaware of any underlying issues that would dictate an full engine rebuild. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eyes.gif)
