Most of my family drives Toyotas that have a sludge problem if the oil isn't changed on a regular basis. Plus, they would never change the oil if it wasn't for me. So we just schedule oil changes at 5000 mile increments for all vehicles. Makes it easy; I just ask what their mileage is and change it at 5000, 10,000, 15,000, etc., miles.
