There is no valid test, even the FSM advises that "replacement with a known good unit" is the only test.




Which is strange, if you go to any of the manufactures websites they do not have testing procedures listed.

My only assumption is there is no safe way you can tell a consumer how to stop the fan at idle, which you should be able to if the clutch is working properly and is off.

'course there is actually no need to completely stop the fan other than to show the clutch is disengaged, and stopping it is not required to prove it is disengaged.


Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.
