I agree on working on the suspension first, to make sure you don't get lost between the rear suspension out of adjustment and the wheeliebars adjusted wrong side to side. I spent a whole weekend chasing that deal.
If your car is launching straight now, good. Go ahead and set the bars so the springs are compressed about ten inchs up, and take a whack at it. Might want the left bar a 1/4 to 1/2 inch lower, if you see it steer the car to the left. If it goes right, lower the right bar a touch.
