You know, I think it was out of it's bore.

The Belleville spring does have a fine wear line
all around it ~1" from the outer edge.

Any other possible causes?

I have and 85' 727 that I just took apart....
The pieces look the same. Any noticable
changes off the top of your head between 85' and 93' on the clutches and planetaries?
