Following this. I used the Hughes hydraulic roller lifters with the comp XR286HR-10 cam in the 505" 440, and the lifters sound loud, but in a roller bearing / sewing machine sound, not valve lash type noise, but that might be the roller thrust button on the stock timing chain cover?
A nylon thrust button is cheap and works well.
