Actually went and looked. The stock replacement Cloyes timing set (this is the one I mentioned wears out quickly) is one third the cost of the Edelbrock set and less than one quarter the price of the Rollmaster someone else mentioned.

Cloyes $28.99
Edelbrock $92.95
Rollmaster $133.75

Not exactly insignificant, up front anyway. Since you'll be replacing it in 6 months due to slop it works out to be cheaper to step up to a good one from the get go.
