Couple decades ago I had an idea to modify one for ratchet shifter operation, but it seemed too bulky and cumbersome so I abandoned it.

To mount it somewhere other than the engine bay would mean column-Cable-remote mounted shifter mechanism-cable-trans which is too much for me.
The indicator wouldn't read correctly either, it would appear to be in neutral visually so that's no good.

Maybe someone smarter than me (should be pretty easy to find LOL) can figure that out, sell it, and retire from the proceeds.....
