I've found that the Trick Flow heads are very picky about the cam profile. I believe it has to do with excellent low lift flow numbers. The heads flow so well at low lift that you have to be careful with the cam size as well as the lobe profile. On my 470 the power dropped off when the cam was both too large, or too small. Once we found a really good cam design then the engine started to respond. I don't know if the cam in this particular engine is going to work well with the TF heads or not. The numbers seem fine to me but I think it is more complex. The single pattern cams that I used in my 470 didn't work very well.

My engine also didn't respond to different rocker arm ratios. It loved ported intakes and it really loved Dominator carbs. My 470 went from 650 hp to 710 by just changing the intake and carb.
