Should make 600 hp. For max power you need a MW intake with the 270 heads, but the standard port intake with work okay with the 270 heads. During the 470 dyno tests that I did my Wilson ported standard intake made more power than the as cast Indy max wedge intake. So a good std intake will work just fine. I think I picked up around 20 hp when I had the Indy max wedge intake ported to work with my 270 heads. But that was a Dominator intake so not really apples to apples.
I made the most power with a 264/268 roller but you should still be able to make 600 hp with that cam. Not sure where the peak will be, maybe 6200 to 6500 rpm. Good luck, should be fun.
Thanks for the info Andy. I don't have a particular horsepower/E.T. goal in mind but if it gets anywhere near that I will be pleased. I was able to get the Trick flow intake so I went with that. I can look into a low deck Max wedge intake. I would have liked to do a roller cam but had to cut costs where I could. Figured that a solid flat tappet would be a decent compromise.
