That said, a guy in town use to race street stock years ago, they all had to run radials and the best were GT Qualifiers. One day we were at his store and he was like "check this out" it was a piece of a cut up GT qualifier that had been soaking in something, I thought he said VHT but it must have been something else because the rubber was super soft. He had been trying a lot of cheats. Car was a granada with a 351, I think a Cleveland, it was fast too.


It's tough with a 400 treadwear radial (what rules require). We've managed a 1.72 60 ft. on a sketch surface and that was right on the edge!
