was good friends with the tire shop owner. he also did recaps, and had a special mold that had different liners that could make cheater slicks or regular slicks.
as for the McCreary's, he was a dealer for those, and would give us guys super deals on slicks and other tires that were offered in that brand. i even have a couple sets of slicks left over from [way] back in the day. they are harder than my head, but still hold air and aren't cracked anywhere.
i even had a set of L-70x15 white letter McCreary studded winter tires. they worked pretty good in ice and snow !
but before the McCreary's, anyone here use the Atlas Bucron tires ? at the time, those were the stickiest street tires you could get. went through a few sets of those.
