I have never heard of a brake pedal being called a "service brake"

If you refer to my first two posts, using the "SERVICE BRAKE" in conjunction with the "PARKING/EMERGENCY brake" was one of the suggestions I made. Might not have worked so well with the detached cable But it is something I has done for years especially with a stick trans on a steep grade
