how could it improve the 60ft? unless he is out of 1st gear by then... not releasing as quickly whatever element is holding it locked or the only other thing I could imagine would be if it was letting a little fluid into 2nd servo or 3rd gear clutch pack causing some bit of fluid drag on the frictions yet not enough to engage and burn a clutch or band?
