The dragstrip nearest to me has scale at their fuel station, which is near the end of the strip. Something I always noticed while down there filling up fuel jugs is that many mopars are heavier than their published weights, in some cases 4-5 hundred pounds more. Maybe that is added products such as reinforcements, maybe its overweight drivers, maybe it was a car full of friends or a trunk full of junk. In many cases, the as driven weight of a street car is going to be above what many believe their car weighs. Kind like the perception of horsepower. Everyone thinks they weigh less and makes more power than reality suggests.
