I have had similar problems with the Summit brand of their SS covered AN hoses, both Teflon and neopreme lined.
I now use Fragola brand and love it up scope
I use 3 or 4 inch wide duct tape and wrap the hose as tight as I can get it and then use a small 4 inch cut off wheel in my Harbor freight Chicago brand air dremel up
