I had to work on my uncles farm back in the 60's. His farm truck was a 1962-64 D200 long long bed with a \6 and granny 4 speed and 4.36:1 open rear. By long long bed I mean a 10 foot long stepside. We too loaded over 1 ton + on that truck. I don't think he ever drove it over 40 MPH from the farm into town or to the Coop.
