Burn the tire down so it has as little tread as will pass tech. No big burn out. First hint of smoke and you’re done. A steeper gear is easier to control. If you get a 3:23 gear spinning it is very hard to stop. Much easier with say 4:10 or higher. I wasn’t around for the tire treating times, but I really don’t think anyone treats the tires in stock appearing anymore.
