I had the aluminum center section in my Duster for more than 2 decades. It would still break a ring gear though. When I put a pro gear in it I never had another problem. Many hard trans brake launches on it. I used it in the Scamp when I built that car. The Duster was right at 3000 pounds and the Scamp was 2700.
