That appears to be my issue. I will loosen up system and get these going the right way. Thanks for the info I been messing with these for years and never run into this!
That shackle is not overcenter holding the leaf in a bind. There is too much arch on the leaf. My P 454, 455 Super Stock springs are the same way. They are arched for 4x4 truck ground clearance. The center of my wheels are about 6" below the lowest point of the rocker panels.
