I think the issue is that Chrysler didn't really make to many "muscle cars" after the mid 70's like Ford did with the Mustang and Chevy with the Camaro. So for someone to be a in a mopar they have to find a older car which takes more time and money due to its age. It's way easier to just go buy the other brand. My dad has always been a Chrysler guy and thus the reasoning I'm one as well. His lifetime stash of parts has definitely come in handy thru the years. The only "younger" racers that I see locally in a mopar are typically the one's who's parents are into mopar and have maybe helped or steered their kids in the right direction.
