10's are fast no matter what folks claim. Simply throwing power at it won't get it done. A well sorted combo engine/drive train/driver is imperative. Consider that most of these cars went mid 14's when new. To go 10.99 in a 3600 lb car takes lots of power. At 650-700HP, our factory blocks start to be the weak link. An aftermarket block is a pretty big investment. Power adders are too.

...that being said, I'm on the fringe like a few others here, but I'm pretty sure it'll go 10's with open headers and slicks. Current best is 11.04 @ 123 MPH.

Factory 440 block. 496" 440 Source kit. 11.2:1 compression. Stealth CNC heads. .575 solid roller. Factory six bbl manifold. 500cfm center carb.
9.5" converter from Dynamic. 4.30 gears. I drive it everywhere, except the freeway. I'm really happy with the car as is. I've put a few thousand miles on it with only oil changes needed. It looks stock under the hood and runs pretty well too.
