Gotta question for the guys that have been there.
Say you like the old FED look, but don't have the budget to go full tilt. Heck, don't even want to go through major licensing and certification. Just a fun, low maintenance car.
So the thought is a FED with alky induction (not as much cooling worries), probably a toilet. Either a glide or a TF. To run 10.0s consistantly, what motor? A BB would probably be too much power and weight. A nice small block with E heads (weight, good flow and reasonable price). What kind of valvetrain and lower end would you suggest? Gotta wonder if a stock 360 would do it....

Well, my pal Ron has a old 60's front engine with a 360 cast crank, summit basic rebuild kit, cast aeroheads and a hughes hydraulic cam like .550 lift and a performer rpm dual plane in front of 727 and the car goes 10.30s shifting at a mind numbing 5500 rpms

There is at least 2 tenthes left in that car but he just doesnt want to go any faster (insert chicken smiley)
