It doesn't take much to go 10 seconds flat or better. 20 years ago I sorted my very old digger with a high mileage (100,000 plus), low compression 440 that sported a few add ons. I had a used Comp .501 cam, Holly SD intake, 850 DP Holley, Stahl 2" headers, stock 727 with a Chetah VB and factory 2400 stall conveter. Without a transbrake I had to drive the car from a standing start because the rear brakes wouldn't hold it. A low 10 at 120-129 mph was easy. A transbrake would have been in the nines. A sharp 12 second street motor would be easy low to mid nines.
