The difference between the 4bbl and 6 Pack is just a tick more compression .004 thinner head gasket. NHRA allows the hood on both combos. The TA hood works. The AAR hood is just lighter.
I routinely ran my 72 340 to 7500 and a few times to 7800 in kill mode. The person to talk to about the AVS combination is Chuck Beach even though he runs an Auto (known him since the 70's when he had a stick in the same car).


Thank you for those answers, now that we can run solids, maybe more rpm is possible. Picked up a LD340 at Carlisle, more open inside then the stock cast iron one, lighter too. Will you use the Jerico, what type clutch-flywheel? Wish I could row one. Mike
