still acts the same. when speed and performance suggested that may be the cause but couldn't tell us how to check that, we just unhooked it to see what happened. also, i hooked it to my DVM, and spun the input core to see what ohm outputs it produced. not knowing what was correct, it varied by the input speed of the drill, so was just re-installed. since the replacement was $100, we are hesitant to invest that because i'm sure those folks just use a common, off the shelf, item. [but not telling what the application is] doing research on "??K" value VSS's, i have found a jeep unit that has the correct values, uses the same input/output threads as the 700R4, has two wires as the original, and is only $30.00 or so, depending on the source and discount.
