Looking at A/H cars, they appear to need ballast to get to the limit. They look light. is that the case?
ANY properly constructed race car is built as light as possible so the extra weight (ballast) needed can be placed where it is most advantageous. The folks who build high end Super Stock cars are especially good at it.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
