The top pic, the scoop is raised off the hood surface, the second seems to have a bulge on the top of the scoop.

If it were me, I would do two things. I would section the scoop and add 1/2- 3/4" through the open area of the scoop and raise the base to lift it above the hood surface a bit.

Done properly the proportions would make it look kinda bigger but not wrong.
