Ok guys I'm just thinking out load here..but wondering what and how to make 850 with a low deck and -1 heads..I know race block thinking aluminum of course..also which size low deck would be the easiest to do it..I kinda like 540 myself but like to here from the more experienced....I have t&d 1.6 rockers -1 heads 2.25 valves just a clean up for now so I know they will be sent out once things are sorted out. ..
540 is enough, 4.5 bore x 4.250 stroke. Good porting, like Indy CNC 345 or similar about 370 cfm will get the job done with 13.0 CR or more.
The posts on intake choice are a good point,, a low deck Indy 400_2 is OK for 850, but for 900 a tunnel ram or RB 440_3X is better. I like a 540 at ~7000 rpm or a little higher.
