The 235 hp 273 is no 340, but by NO MEANS a slouch. It's 10.5 to 1 comp ratio and solid lifter setup is a good foundation to start with. Makes for a good rod engine or a screaming drag powerplant in a 2000lb (or less)
chassis. It's a matter of personal choice on your buildups or motors. But there are two ways to go with a motor - either increase displacement or/ and breathing ability at any rpm and lighten the load to accelerate quicker. Tne
180 hp version is a decent powerplant for utility
usage with great mileage manners to boot.
