Here's a personal experience condition You can check: Put the car up on jackstands and remove driveline. Rotate pinion and check for ease of rotation both directions. Next pull axles out of pumpkin and notice if on subsequent reinstallation the bearings slide easy or align with the bearing flanges. My 9" axle bearing plates had moved from all the abuse of racing and were contributing to the gawd awful condition of "this '!#$#$234ng' thing is too hard to push!". Noticed car slowing down as well so it might not be the transmission. Something else to check.




Drive shaft was disconnected and he was turning the
diff yoke then the drive shaft(the rear end was fine)
