Hey Troy, the points won't actually carry the energy of the ignition system like stock points, they are just set up to trigger the box like a reluctor wheel/magnetic pickup does. I suppose some voltage is applied and it triggers when it grounds. I know that the point gap doesn't even matter with it as long as they open and close. You'd just want a set of points that won't bounce at your max RPM.
