A forward opening scoop is USELESS unless it is high enough in the air stream to over come the "boundary layer bleed off" on the surface of the hood. Grab an old Direct Connection manual and do some reading. All this is covered.

A lot of guys don't like the look of cowls on a Mopar, especially the "purists", but bottom line, they WORK when set up right.

The "factory" forward facing scoops were for one of two things...LOOKS or CLEARANCE..........you will notice performance is NOT included in that list.
