Using drop bases on the carbs will fix that. Seen it done many times.
If it was worth any power on those cars, I'm sure they would be doing it.

Sure they can, problem is they don't help. The scoop has to be kept within factory dimensions and as discussed in other threads is not high enough to do any good. Sealing the scoop would probably cost it air vs letting it get some underhood air unsealed.

into the real air flow... they MAY be getting a good
percentage of their air flow from inside the hood
area.. I picked up ET and 3 MPH on my scoop when I
