The 413 in the wagon is making some not so good noises.
I was given a '74 440m block thats already been .030 over. Going to have it checked out and see if it will clean up with a hone, or needs to go over a tad more.
Going to use the crank and rods from the 413, and order a kit with pistons, rings, bearings, etc.
I have a set of rpm heads, 84cc., a performer rpm intake, 850 holley vacuum secondary, 2,600 stall ptc converter, and 3.73 gears.
what would be a good cam to take advantage of the rpm heads? I have indy rockers also.
Willing to go up on the stall if need be, but it is a budget build, so no roller cam. would like to try to keep all cost with machine work around $2,000. A friend is doing the assembly, he just doesn't have a tools for the machine work. Rebuild kit with good pistons is about $800, so that leaves some room for extras, not including a new converter.

Don't want to go stroker, because that at least $2,000 just for the kit, then it all must be checked and balanced, and i would also need to redo my fuel system at that point.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Car weighs about 4,300lbs and will have a/c.
