Having said that, your comments regarding "Mr Brakecheck" and "aimed at my knees at 20 feet" could very easily place you in the category I was talking about.

Put a stock headlight back in one side, face off to a wall at about 25' and 50' and compare where the light is hitting the wall between the two sides. Not exactly a technical solution but it will give you a good idea of what's going on.
