For the van, the driveshaft itself is damaged, both at the cv end and the u joint end. Unless we stumble across a good used one that can be freshened I think we'd be smarter to go standard u joint.

The fury, well, we rebuilt it when the car was restored, took it on the 08 power tour and long hauled. Got in some SERIOUS traffic issues due to flooding between Rochester and Madison(6 hours to get 60 miles). When we got back up to speed the car had a bad vibration, all the stop and go and in/out with the clutch killed the CV joint. Can't get parts on the road, degreased it with brake clean and did the "stuff the broken needle bearing parts in between the whole ones that were left", greased the hell out of it and limped it 650 miles home. We had to rebuild it again after scouring parts and next time it's getting replaced without a doubt. Dad is an aggressive driver...

I was aware of the slip joint issue before I posted, the shaft for the van is so short that I think we could use a front shaft from a 4wd something that has a slip joint in it already.

Thanks for the replies and links. The main thing is knowing that a bolt on flange exists to put a u joint on the end of the early trans yoke. Dad has no issue with money so the fury will get a new custom shaft from inland truck parts. The van needs to be half assed due to budget concerns.
