does it exist lockups 727 for BB ? I think not, but reading here just thought on that




Been looking around at transmission options lately. Not 100% sure but I think the only way to get lockup and overdrive onto a BB "727" is still to cut the bellhousing off of a SB 518 and use the aftermarket bellhousing that attaches to the front pump bolts.

From what I am seeing so far in my search, gearvendors is the easiest. As to above comments about taking the tranny apart to change the output shaft, it looks like the GV is available in two versions now. The regular long version requires only removal of the tailshaft housing. There is also a shorty version which requires replacement of the output shaft with a shorter one, and a matching shorter adapter. Guess it depends on how much room you have in the car it is going in, or how much you can afford to change the driveshaft angle.




Just start with the short transmission. 4x4 trucks with a divorced transfer case come with a short shaft trans.
