There are some easy ways which are expensive. There are some fairly inexpensive ways which are hack jobs. There isn't an easy and inexpensive way to do it cleanly.

Transmissions are difficult for the aftermarket to develop since they require a lot of money for tooling. So in a low volume application the choices get really limited.

It is a little better if you go with a manual trans rather than an automatic. The 5 speed kits are pretty close to a bolt in.
