Not really a strength issue till you get into some insane torque levels , the problem is ... maybe WAS now ??? ... of getting performance oriented convertors that fit a lockup trans and the fact it's one more small hurdle to overcome as to shifting in and out of . Lockup is your friend for fuel economy and getting power to the ground.
