carb isn't an issue. MSD had a boost delay/retard box you can add on. It lets you drop from .5* to 4* per lb of boost. The carb and the delay box are a much easier instal than a EFI set-up and WAY cheaper.

easier yes...but if you buy a setup forced induction carb, not that much cheaper than my setup once you figure in the ignition and tunability that comes built in the LS1 ignition/Efi.

I paid about $200 for my carb to be boost preped, $50 for my MSD delay box...

I hear you...but you are not counting the cost of the carb you are modifing in your comparison. Also the cost of the carb hat (kinda expensive)....you wouldn't need one depending on what style throttle body you went with. Also what about the guy starting from scratch. I'm not saying this option is for everyone...it should at least be considered though.

I could efi a motor for $800-900....thats not that bad, and certainly cheaper than a 6-pak setup, etc. Also, that includes a fully adjustable and powerful ignition system.
I'll bow out of this thread now....I didn't mean to take it off topic.

$50 for a used 750DP, $100 for the prform main body, Can't recall how much the floats and rebuild kit were... I bought the hat on special. It was a plastic unit that Superior was discontinuing I think it was $80. Like I said look around for bargins. You could EFI a motor for 8-900 but could Joe Hotrodder do it? And yes 6-packs aren't cheap. I could have spent less and boosted this engine, but it was already 11.2:1..... Next time.....
