My basic thought being since both the 4.2 AMC six and the 318 were both blessed with the piece of garbage carter BBD that the weber 32/36 kit as marketed for the 4.2 would also be suitable for the 318 ? Yes I know the linkage issues for the throttle and kickdown are going to require some work around but thats the least of my concern.

The backstory: I have been fighting with the POS (I cant say anything nice about it) Carter BBD on my B-van for awhile now. At idle the thing is flooding the engine like mad. Look down the choke plate and there is raw gas just pouring out of the venturi's. The step-up piston works fine but its still not cutting the gas flow at idle.

I have gone through the unit multiple times and everything appears to be in otherwise working order and within the range of adjustment as called for within the FSM. Short of converting to a 4 BBL the weber has really got my interest and I have heard nothing but praise about the unit.
