5.88 BS on an 8" wide wheel puts it too far in. Our cars want near 0 offset, roughly 4" backspace on an 8" wheel. you can fudge that either way, but not by over 1.5" (unless you have some other serious suspensionmods that move the lug mounting surfaces way in or out from stock) I found this out the hard way when I got a "deal" on a new set of boyd coddington wheels and didn't research the backspacing enough. They were 8" wide wheels and had 5.88 backspace. wow they looked hideous. Even if I cared enough to have adaptors made, which would still result in a wheel with no visible "dish," it would hav been prohibitively expensive to get them made the right way, hubcentric, etc.... with this much of a mismatch, spacers won't cut it.
