I know the least expensive way to improve performance is through weight reduction. That's the biggest reason that I went with the aluminum block and lift off hood. I have tried to keep the car so it still appears to be streetable. Full interior, carpeting, headliner ,rear seat. Last winter I finally removed the passenger seat to offset the additional weight of the additional bars for the rollcage. I also went to 4 wheel disk brakes for additional weight savings.
