Dont forget to include a fuel system in that estimate $$$

The fuel system will be the most difficult and the cost will add up quickly. Figure at least $500 to $1000 to get the fuel system right with an in tank pump, baffling, regulator and return line.

You can do it for lots less if you play your cards right. A GM LS1 fuel regulator can be had for around 30 bucks. They are a combination filter and regulator and regulate at 50psi. You need to spend 10 bucks for an adapter for the outlet to mate it up to a rubber fuel hose. You can get a walbro gsl-392 fuel pump for under 100 bucks. At 50psi it will flow enough fuel for around 55-65gph at 12v-13.5volts. That's enough for well north of 500hp. You can add an external sump onto the bottom of your tank or add baffles on the inside. You can reuse your stock fuel pickup, just add a return line to it and like I said, add baffles to the inside of the tank. You can weld a sump onto the outside bottom of your tank and add fuel inlets off of there if you want to. Total cost around 200 bucks.
