At 900 ft/lbs you should be able to accelerate just fine without the added gear reduction.




You don't think a powerglide or a turbo 400 won't blow up ?

Cummins powered rams putting out over 1500 ft/lbs use a 727 based OD trans and don't blow up when built properly .




My 3000 pound Outlaw car makes twice that much torque and our Mike's glide has never broken.




I left out these 1500# Cummins trucks are 4x4's that weigh in at 7000lbs.

A 727 isn't right for every application but it will handle 900#, most people go to the GM based trans more because of cost than anything else .
