My combo is 500HP/540 Ft Lbs... I am running a stock 727 for now. At what point do I look into getting a trans shield or blanket? This is a street driven car for the most part, but I don't want to cut my feet off playing at a stop light or on a backroad!

At the point you value your feet more then the cost of the blanket/shield.....

When the cost of your deductible for prosthetic feet surpasses the cost of a shield / blanket, it's time.

You should be able to pick an expired date SFI one for almost nothing...I threw one away. If you have ever seen a 727 come apart you would run to the nearest speed shop and buy one.

spaced off the trans

I got a Lofgren blanket. when i bought mine you can choose between an SFI or non SFI blanket. the only difference is the tag on it. i bought the non SFI blanket and saved alot of money and it fits good

the difference is lofgren was buying RCI blankets(if my memory is correct) cutting them in half and re-stiching them. one had the sfi sticker sewn back on the other didn't. thats what I heard anyway
